Following interviews of management and of our two youngest members of staff, Patrick and Declan along with an indepth audit of our company ethos, policies and procedures we have been informed that MDive has been successful in attaining Scotlands Investors in Young People accreditation.
The report which focuses on the attracting, recruiting, developing and nurturing of our young employees goes on to say that our positive and commited approach sets MDive aside from other companies in our sector and pays tribute to the considerable investments we make both in time and money.
We are 100% committed and determined to play our part in creating exciting career paths for youngsters within the safe and welcoming MDive 'family' unit and we are particularly proud to be able to contribute in this way to our local, very rural community where such opportunities are fewer than those available on the mainland.
We were particularly commended for our in house apprenticeship scheme which is set to see Declan become a fully qualified diver by Summer 2016. We hope that this is something we will be able to offer to more young people in the future.
Chris Cox, our IIYP assessor said "The politeness, enthusiasm, confidence and pride of the staff members seen during this assessment made the whole experience a real pleasure."

We are over the moon to announce that having only been established for 2 years we recently received our 2nd award for excellence.
At a prestigious award ceremony held at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow and hosted by Carol Smiley, MDive were awarded joint first place in the Rural Family Business (small/Medium) category of the Herald Family Business Awards run in association with Business Gateway.
The award was presented by Gillian Cameron, Project Manager, Supplier Development Programme, sponsors of that category. Almost the entire team of MDive employees and their partners were at the ceremony which made winning the category all the more exciting and special.
In his acceptance speech our Commercial Director Murdo Smith pointed out that the Company’s success was due to the wholehearted support that he and his partner and fellow director Helen Dewar had received from the entire staff of the Company.
Earlier this year we won the SCDI Highlands & Islands Business Excellence Award for “Excellence in a marine business” sponsored by The Crown Estate.
Helen Dewar, Managing Director said that she was very pleased and proud of the team for helping the Company become a leader in the industry at the same time as remaining a business with the family feeling. One third of MDive employees are related, however we are keen to ensure that everyone in the organisation feels that they are very much part of our special MDive family.
MDive is proud to be backing 'Kids for Life' a charity whose aim is to make life easier for children and young adults affected by life threatening illnesses as well as offering advice and guidance to their families.
As well as this invaluable support Kids for Life are dedicated to raising funds which are offered as grants to hospitals and research facilities in a hope that one day a cure will be found for all childhood cancers.
Check out their website Kids for Life for further information on the fantastic work they do and perhaps get involved in some fundraising yourselves!

MDive has gained a ‘shop window’ with companies in the utilities sector by joining Achilles UVDB – an online community that enables companies to manage supply chain risk and comply with EU regulations.
MDive will now be able to share on an online platform its capabilities in key business areas, such as health and safety and compliance.
Achilles UVDB is used by over 1000 buyers from over 40 UK utilities companies to find suitably qualified suppliers. Achilles works to ensure suppliers’ information is accurate via data validation, and desktop and physical audits. Several buying organisations also use the community as an approved mechanism for tendering for contracts above and below EU threshold contracts – streamlining the procurement process.
Richard Dewar, Finance Manager for MDive said: “We look forward to having the opportunity to further increase our client base and offer utility companies the benefit of our highly professional and efficient services. .”
Tom Grand, Regional Director for Achilles in the UK and Ireland, said: “By joining the biggest utilities supply chain risk management community in the UK, MDive has put itself in the best position to be considered for work with UK utility buyers.”
